After 40 years of marriage, I found myself in need of legal council to facilitate an amicable divorce process. I requested a reference from a friend who had gone through a messy divorce and was hoping for a much easier process. I was referred to Shawnee Burton at the Lancaster Law Group and could not have been happier. Shawnee understood the importance of bringing our marriage to a very simple and pre-defined agreement legally and did not press for a more aggressive process. While she sought to understand my situation and give me all my options, she respected my wishes to resolve the marriage in the way I wanted and facilitated every step of the process along with her paralegal Kelly Beamesderfer very quickly. During the entire process they were very responsive to my inquiries about the legal process and were much more timely in responding than my wife's council. While I certainly don't wish a divorce upon anyone, I can confidently recommend Shawnee and Kelly in the event legal council is needed. The overall cost was quite reasonable for such a simple divorce, but came with the comfort of knowing I was in good hands and that the subtle nuances of the divorce would be handled professionally.
